It has been longer than a year since my last post. Back then, I wasn't yet married, I shared a condo with my finace and our three cats, and I was working at Adult Protective Services. Sooooo many changes have happened in that last year.
Loren and I were married on April 30, 2005. It was the perfect day, literally. It was supposed to rain most of the day, but we woke up to sunny skies. It stayed that way most of the day in fact. It was fairly warm most of the day as well, that is until around 3:30 pm when the wedding party made their way to to Blackthorn golf course to get set up for the last round of photo's and our trip 'over the hill and through the greens' to the rehearsal dinner we went. It got quite chilly at that point, but we knew that some cocktails were waiting for us in the reception hall. We still look back on that day with such warms thoughts of being surrounded by our closest family and friends.
Loren and I were able to finally get the condo sold in October, in large part due to Jeff Schnable, our real estate agent. We moved into Loren's parents basement (don't let me fool you, it is a 1200 sq. foot basement which is finished with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, full bath and living room with complete view of the St. Joseph river) for a few months while we found a house we would love. Around the middle of January, I toured through Heather Lakes, a subdivision Loren and I toured throuh back in 2003 Panarama of Homes, and saw a former Panarama house on the market. I mentioned it to Loren, we set up a showing and by Feb. 17, 2006 we had our closing and started moving in that day! We love it and are doing little things with the landscaping to make it our own.
Around the beginning of March, I started a new career. Back in May of 2003, I graduated with my Master's degree in Social Work, but never really pursued a new job. Well, in March I began working at Memorial Hospital in South Bend as a Clinical Social Worker. For the most part, I do discharge planning, but it is plenty heavy on the social work aspect of it too. I really really like my new work place, co-workers and the challange that every day presents.
Well, I should close for now, it is getting late and the kitty's are meowing that it time for bed.
Good Night!
